Job Description

A 2nd shift (2pm-10:30pm) Wastewater Operator is needed for a large manufacturing facility in Santa Ana, CA. This is a direct hire position with pay based on experience (open to lower level and higher level candidates). The Wastewater Treatment Operator I will perform various duties to support the wastewater treatment operations, including inspection, monitoring, and maintenance of pump stations. Ideally looking for candidates with Wastewater Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment facilities, including batch treatment of plating wastewater.
• Operate a filter press and calibrate pH meters.
• Initiate corrective actions for equipment deficiencies.
• Maintain records as per prescribed guidelines.
• Use the AA for frequent analysis of treated wastewater.
• Maintain inventory of wastewater process supplies.
• Ensure the wastewater treatment area is orderly and complies with OSHA and environmental standards.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment and systems involved in wastewater treatment.
• Perform scheduled lubrications, cleaning of channels, tanks, sumps, and repacking of pumps.
• Return plant equipment and processes to operating status following shutdowns and power outages.
• Calibrate chemical analyzers.
• Prepare reports and maintain work records.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
• Perform general cleanup of tools, equipment, and areas such as spills, plating lines, hazardous waste, scrubbers, and wastewater.

Essential Skills

• Certification in Industrial Wastewater Treatment.
• 1 year of experience working with industrial chemicals or in a metal plating environment.
• 1 year of experience in wastewater treatment operations.
• Knowledge of wastewater, water reclamation, and related treatment processes.
• Knowledge of methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in the inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and operation of pumps.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and follow oral and written instructions.

This is a Permanent position based out of Santa Ana, CA.

The pay range for this position is $64480.00 - $64480.00/yr.
