The Volunteer Coordinator is a part-time (up to 20 hours/week) year-round position that reports to the Arboretum Director. This role coordinates all aspects of the Arboretum and Botanical Garden Volunteer Program in accordance with California State University, Fullerton’s Volunteer Guidelines. Responsibilities include volunteer scheduling, recruitment, onboarding/orientation, and retention, as well as supporting day-to-day volunteer program operations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer for scheduling, email communication, and database management, as well as regular standing and walking throughout the Arboretum grounds and office areas to support volunteer orientations, check-ins, and program needs. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in writing, including providing instructions to individuals and groups. Occasional bending, reaching, stooping, and light lifting or carrying of materials and supplies (generally up to 10–20 pounds) may be required. Duties may also include working outdoors at times in varying weather conditions while supporting volunteer activities or events.
