A leading residential homebuilder is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President of Finance to serve as the senior-most finance executive and a key member of the Executive Leadership Team. This role offers a significant opportunity to shape financial strategy, drive operational excellence, and partner closely with ownership and senior executives in a growth-oriented organization.

The ideal candidate will bring strong executive presence, unquestioned integrity, and deep industry expertise, with the ability to lead a complex, business-critical finance organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership over the entire Finance function, including Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and oversight of the owner’s Family Office Controller
  • Lead the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely, accurate, and insightful reporting to the CEO, COO, and senior leadership
  • Develop and execute financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning aligned with organizational objectives
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital, ensuring financial flexibility and operational stability
  • Oversee capital structure, including debt and equity financing; evaluate and support investment and growth opportunities
  • Maintain strong, trusted relationships with ownership, lenders, insurance partners, and other financial stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary financial liaison to external partners, ensuring the organization maintains a competitive advantage through robust banking and insurance relationships
  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing finance teams, fostering accountability, development, and continuous improvement


Qualifications & Experience

  • Homebuilding experience required
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Demonstrated success in financial strategy, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting at an enterprise level
  • Deep understanding of land and lot acquisition, development financing, and construction-related capital structures
  • Proven ability to lead and scale finance organizations in dynamic, growth-oriented environments
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at the executive and ownership levels
