Job Title: Transportation Supervisor

Reports To: Director of Sales and Marketing

Travel: some (depending on the business needs)

FLSA: Exempt

Salary Range: $85,000 (D.O.E)

Work Schedule: This role requires a minimum of 40 hours per week. Due to the continuous, 24/7 nature of our logistics operations, scheduling is established by the Director of Sales and Marketing in accordance with business needs. Availability during nights, weekends, and

holidays is expected.

Role Overview:

The Transportation Supervisor manages daily freight execution while improving how we schedule loads, manage carriers, and coordinate across teams. This is a hands‑on, decision‑making role, not a transactional dispatch seat. You will solve problems, improve processes, and directly influence service and cost outcomes.


There is a clear path to growing into a Transportation Manager or broader Supply Chain leadership role.

What You’ll Own


Freight Execution & Scheduling

  • Schedule and secure freight for all outbound shipments
  • Build efficient truckloads across multiple shipping points
  • Coordinate with warehouses on timing, readiness, and dock flow
  • Ensure consistent on‑time pickup and delivery performance

Carrier Management

  • Manage and strengthen carrier relationships
  • Source and onboard new carriers as needed
  • Track performance and enforce service standards
  • Maintain compliance, insurance, and documentation
  • Own freight claims from initiation through resolution


Communication & Coordination

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for shipment status
  • Communicate risks, delays, and solutions early
  • Coordinate daily with sales, customer service, and operations
  • Support customer communication when needed


Process Improvement & Reporting

  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements
  • Maintain accurate shipment tracking and documentation
  • Monitor freight costs and performance trends
  • Support rate benchmarking and seasonal planning

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years in transportation, logistics, or supply chain (produce a plus)
  • Understanding of freight and carrier operations (reefer experience a plus)
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Excel and general business tools
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This is an on‑site role with daily interaction across operations, sales, warehouse teams, and carriers. This role may require occasional work in warehouse or cold‑chain environments, including time spent near loading docks, coolers, and staging areas.
