A well-established Texas construction and real estate law firm is seeking an experienced Transactional Attorney (7–12 years) to join its Houston office.


This firm is one of Texas's leading construction and real estate law practices, with a deep bench of board-certified attorneys and a well-earned reputation for sophisticated transactional and litigation work. With offices across Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, and Houston, the firm serves contractors, developers, owners, lenders, and investors on high-stakes matters across the state.


The Role

This is a senior-level transactional position for an attorney with substantial construction and/or commercial real estate deal experience who is ready to take ownership of client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the Houston practice. The ideal candidate brings not only a strong technical foundation but also an entrepreneurial mindset — whether through existing client relationships, industry connections, or a genuine drive to build them.


Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate construction contracts, development agreements, real estate purchase and sale agreements, leases, and related transaction documents
  • Advise developers, contractors, owners, and lenders on risk allocation, deal structure, and project documentation
  • Manage transactions from inception through closing
  • Collaborate with litigation colleagues on matters requiring transactional and dispute resolution support
  • Actively participate in business development initiatives and client relationship management


Qualifications

  • 7–12 years of transactional experience focused on construction and/or commercial real estate
  • Texas Bar admission required
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills across construction and real estate deal types
  • Existing client relationships or demonstrated interest and ability in business development strongly preferred
  • Board certification in Construction Law or Commercial Real Estate Law a plus


Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $200,000 – $250,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
