Tax Preparer

Job Title: Experienced Tax Preparer (Contract)

Location: Richmond, VA (Onsite)

Duration: 90-Day Contract

Pay Rate: $25-35+/hour Depending on Experience

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to support individual tax return preparation during a high-volume period. This is a 90-day onsite contract opportunity based in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing individual tax returns and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file individual tax returns (1040s and related schedules)
• Review financial records such as income statements and documentation for accuracy
• Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations
• Identify potential tax credits and deductions for clients
• Maintain organized and accurate client records
• Provide support during tax review processes, if applicable

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2-15+ years of experience preparing individual tax returns
• Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., H&R Block, Intuit/ProSeries, TurboTax, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple returns and deadlines efficiently
• Prior experience reviewing tax returns is a plus
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Preferred Experience:

• Exposure to tax return review or quality assurance processes
• Familiarity with a variety of individual tax scenarios and filing requirements

Additional Details:

• This is a fully onsite role; candidates must be available to work in Richmond, VA Monday through Friday
• Immediate availability preferred
