Sterling Engineering is looking for Substation Designers in Chicago, IL. This opportunity supports utility and infrastructure projects with a focus on design and drafting.

Job Duties:

• Analyze client requests and interpret engineering sketches
• Create and modify drawings using AutoCAD
• Develop preliminary and final design layouts
• Calculate right-of-way, street dimensions, and angles
• Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion
• Utilize tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Google Earth, and MS Office
• Support additional drafting and design tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree (AAS) or equivalent experience
• AutoCAD Certification or relevant experience
• Up to 5+ years of related experience (flexible based on skill level)
• Experience with electrical utility design is a plus
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Earth
