Job Title: Structural Drafter

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Drafter to develop and maintain structural Revit models for a variety of building systems, including steel, concrete, masonry, tilt-up, and metal structures. The role involves producing construction documents such as plans, sections, details, schedules, and general notes under the guidance of structural engineers. You will incorporate redlines, sketches, and markups accurately into Revit models while coordinating with architectural and other engineering disciplines to resolve any clashes and inconsistencies. Your expertise will support revisions through design development, permitting, and construction phases, while maintaining drafting and BIM standards, templates, and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain structural Revit models for various building systems.
  • Produce construction documents including plans, sections, details, and schedules.
  • Incorporate redlines, sketches, and markups into Revit models accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate structural models with architectural and other engineering disciplines.
  • Assist with BIM coordination, model cleanup, and document quality control.
  • Support revisions through design development, permitting, and construction phases.
  • Maintain drafting and BIM standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Organize and manage drawing sets, model versions, and project files.
  • Participate in internal coordination meetings to support project delivery.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit; familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of structural systems including steel framing, concrete, foundations, and masonry.
  • Ability to interpret structural calculations, sketches, and engineer direction.
  • 3+ years of experience in structural drafting with a focus on drawing accuracy and consistency.
  • Experience working on commercial, industrial, or specialty facilities.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical training in drafting, BIM, or a related field.
  • Experience in translating engineer markups into high-quality BIM models and construction drawings.

Work Environment

You will be part of a 10-person office located in downtown Portland. The initial 90 days require 5 days in the office, with the possibility of moving to a hybrid schedule earlier with approval. Afterward, you may work 3 days in the office and 2 days from home, with Tuesday being an obligatory office day. The company offers flexible hours, allowing for '4 9s'—four days at 9 hours each and a half-day on Friday—or a traditional 5-day workweek.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr.
