Staff Accountant - Fully onsite opportunity
Jacko Logistics is a fast-growing transportation and logistics company headquartered in Vancouver, WA. With a fleet of 250+ trucks and continued expansion plans, we are looking for a hands-on Staff Accountant to join our accounting team and play a key role in supporting our day-to-day financial operations.
What You'll Do
Accounts Receivable (Primary Focus)
- Manage and oversee the full accounts receivable process
- Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and timely
- Monitor customer payment activity and aging reports
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies and customer disputes
- Follow up on outstanding balances and support collection efforts
- Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate records
- Assist with cash application and payment posting
Accounts Payable Support
- Process vendor invoices and ensure proper coding and approvals
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with weekly check runs and ACH payments
- Maintain vendor records and documentation
- Support AP coverage and workflow management as needed
General Accounting Responsibilities
- Perform account reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
- Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules
- Support financial reporting and analysis
- Maintain organized accounting records and documentation
- Assist with audits and special accounting projects
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies
- Collaborate with operations, payroll, recruiting, and leadership teams
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of accounting experience required
- Strong hands-on experience in Accounts Receivable
- Working knowledge of Accounts Payable processes
- Experience with account reconciliations and general ledger accounting
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large amounts of data
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Transportation, logistics, trucking, or distribution industry experience is a plus
