Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will support the accounting team in the execution of day-to-day financial operations across a portfolio of real estate development and operating assets. This role is responsible for transactional and process-driven accounting functions, including invoice processing, draw preparation, reconciliations, and audit/tax support.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and execute month-end and quarter-end close processes

• Prepare and review detailed monthly bank reconciliations

• Record and analyze general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness

• Process and code invoices across multiple entities and projects

• Prepare payment packages, including supporting documentation and approvals

• Compile invoices and prepare monthly construction draw packages

• Track draw submissions, funding status, and lender requirements

• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances

• Support year-end close, including audit and tax documentation

• Assist the Controller and Senior Accountants with ad hoc reporting and financial analysis 

• Maintain organized documentation and accounting records

• Communicate effectively with Senior Accountants and Controller


Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 

• 1–3 years of public accounting experience (real estate or development experience preferred)

• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations

• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (Yardi preferred)

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
