We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join a growing finance and accounting team at a dynamic real estate investment firm headquartered in Miami. This role offers direct exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to support accounting operations across a multi-entity portfolio.
This is a highly hands-on position where you will take ownership of key accounts, contribute to financial reporting, and play an integral role in the close process. The environment is collaborative, fast-paced, and well-suited for someone who enjoys both structure and variety.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Close Process
- Prepare and record journal entries across multiple legal entities
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts (cash, receivables, payables, prepaids, accruals)
- Support monthly and annual close cycles, ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, providing clear analysis and recommendations
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements
- Compile supporting schedules, variance analyses, and internal management reports
- Partner with internal teams to produce property-level financial reporting
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes
Accounts Payable, Receivable & Cash Management
- Process invoices and ensure proper coding, approvals, and documentation
- Support receivables tracking, billing reconciliations, and cash activity
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
- Assist with intercompany activity and cash movements
Compliance, Audit & Tax Support
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP
- Assist with audit requests and year-end tax preparation support
- Support vendor documentation and reporting requirements (e.g., 1099s)
- Contribute to various tax and regulatory compliance processes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with asset management, operations, and investment teams
- Assist with accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, and new entities
- Support ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed
Qualifications
Experience & Education
- 3–5 years of accounting experience; real estate, private equity, or multi-entity environments preferred
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and close processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA track or certification is a plus
