Position Overview:
As a Sourcing & Compliance Coordinator, you will support the Sourcing team in managing product, labeling, and trade compliance across our $100M+ international supply chain. This entry-level role is responsible for verifying supplier compliance with U.S. regulatory requirements (CPSC, FTC textile and wool labeling, country of origin, California Proposition 65), maintaining compliance documentation, auditing product labeling and packaging, and supporting country of origin and import documentation. You will work directly with the Sourcing Manager to ensure every product we source meets all applicable U.S. labeling, safety, and trade requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Product & Labeling Compliance:
- Audit incoming and outgoing product labels, hangtags, packaging inserts, and care/content labels against approved specifications and regulatory requirements
- Verify product labeling for compliance with FTC Textile Fiber Products Identification Act and Wool Products Labeling Act requirements (fiber content, country of origin, RN number, care instructions)
- Monitor CPSC and FTC regulatory updates, flagging changes that may affect Bare Home product lines and communicating impacts to the Sourcing Manager
- Maintain California Proposition 65 compliance records, supplier certifications, and warning label requirements as applicable
- Support flammability standards verification (16 CFR 1632/1633 for mattresses, 16 CFR 1610 for general textiles) by collecting, reviewing, and filing supplier test reports
- Coordinate with QC and Product Development on label artwork accuracy, content verification, and corrective actions when labeling discrepancies are identified
Trade & Sourcing Compliance Support:
- Assist with country of origin determinations and documentation for international shipments
- Support HTS code research and classification under the direction of the Sourcing Manager (final classification decisions remain with management or licensed customs broker)
- Maintain a comprehensive compliance documentation library including supplier certificates, test reports, factory audits, and country of origin records
- Track and follow up on missing supplier documentation, certifications, and renewal dates to ensure continuous compliance
- Support free trade agreement (FTA) eligibility documentation and recordkeeping where applicable
Data Management & Reporting:
- Build and maintain compliance tracking spreadsheets using advanced Excel functions including XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables, and conditional formatting
- Generate compliance status reports, supplier scorecards, and audit findings for the Sourcing Manager and Director of Supply Chain
- Maintain accurate, organized digital filing systems for compliance records in accordance with retention requirements
- Assist with data entry and verification in NetSuite, PLM systems, and supplier portals
- Identify data inconsistencies, discrepancies, and process gaps and propose practical solutions to address them
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with the Sourcing team on supplier qualification, compliance assessments, and onboarding documentation
- Coordinate with QC on product testing schedules, sample submissions, and test report review
- Communicate with international suppliers in China, India, Pakistan, and Turkey via email, video conference, and messaging platforms regarding compliance requirements
- Support Logistics on import documentation, country of origin certificates, and customs entry support
- Translate compliance requirements into clear, actionable communications for internal teams and external suppliers
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design and Development, Textile Science, Supply Chain Management, Merchandising, International Business, or related field — recent graduates strongly encouraged to apply
- 0–1 years of relevant experience; internships, academic projects, or coursework in textile/apparel compliance, sourcing, or merchandising will be considered
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to identify problems and propose practical solutions
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in document review and data entry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with international vendors
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities shift and flexibility is essential
Technical Skills* — Must Have:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency including XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and data validation
- Strong understanding of data integrity, validation techniques, and troubleshooting data quality issues
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Familiarity with shared drives, SharePoint, or document management systems
- Experience with video conferencing platforms (Teams, Zoom) for international vendor coordination

Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework or hands-on exposure to textile testing, fiber identification, garment construction, or care label development
- Familiarity with U.S. consumer product regulations (CPSC, FTC) or import/export documentation
- Experience with NetSuite, PLM systems, or supplier portals
- Exposure to international trade, customs documentation, or HTS classification
- Coursework or experience in international business, sourcing, or supply chain management

- Strong understanding of how compliance, sourcing, and quality functions interconnect within an international supply chain
- Analytical mindset with ability to identify patterns, trends, and discrepancies in supplier documentation and compliance records

- Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, with occasional early morning or off-hours calls based on international time zone needs
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive Pay: $22 to $28 Hourly Non-exempt ($45,000 to $58,000 )
