Inventory & Procurement Coordinator

Pay: $30–$33/hr (based on experience)

Location: Richmond, CA (on‑site)

The Inventory & Procurement Coordinator oversees inventory, shipping and receiving, and West Coast procurement activities for the Richmond, CA office. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented, highly organized self‑starter with an interest in innovation, technology, and process improvement. You will manage inventory and supplies, coordinate logistics, and support operations to ensure smooth day‑to‑day activities. By maintaining accurate stock levels, optimizing vendor relationships, and tracking orders, you will play a key role in keeping projects and operations running efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Source, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships for supplies, prototype components, equipment, and services.
  • Ensure suppliers meet quality and delivery standards.
  • Monitor delivery schedules, pricing, and lead times for all materials.
  • Process purchase orders accurately and manage payments promptly.
  • Identify opportunities for procurement cost savings.
  • Track, organize, and maintain office inventory and supplies.
  • Conduct regular stock checks to ensure accuracy and prevent shortages or overstock.
  • Implement and refine systems for efficient inventory control and replenishment.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory valuations.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all deliveries and shipments.
  • Inspect inbound shipments and resolve discrepancies.
  • Serve as the primary contact for couriers, freight companies, and suppliers.
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to forecast supply needs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, internal policies, and ISO requirements.
  • Support special projects related to supply chain, logistics, and operations.
  • Assist with vendor audits and process improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
  • Proven ability to manage inventory and maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Experience with shipping and receiving processes.
  • Strong procurement skills, including sourcing and negotiating.
  • Comfort working in supply chain or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to support operations and engineering with timely information.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Self‑starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to follow procedures while identifying process improvements.
  • Understanding of ISO requirements or willingness to learn.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Interest in innovation, technology, and process optimization.
  • Ability to document and establish new processes.
  • Comfort giving and receiving feedback in a continuous improvement culture.
  • Strong communication skills for working with vendors and internal teams.

This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
