What you’ll be doing:
Design and implement standard input templates and deliverable formats for internal use and for collaboration with external simulation vendors.
Establish and maintain simulation validation standards to ensure accuracy and reliability of models.
Build and nurture relationships with external simulation vendors to support project execution and knowledge exchange.
Create and manage a centralized system for organizing and maintaining in-house simulation models.
Develop advanced techniques for mining completed simulation data to extract actionable business insights that drive operational improvements.
Collaborate closely with in-house data analysts to streamline data collection processes and identify opportunities to develop digital twins leveraging simulation models.
Provide expert guidance and training to internal stakeholders on DES best practices and tools.
Requirements:
Qualifications/ What you bring (Must Haves):
Bachelors degree in relevant fields such as Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in discrete event simulation within a manufacturing environment.
Proven expertise using Siemens Plant Simulation software for building and applying DES models.
Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) to automate data processing or simulation workflows.
Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain processes, and production systems.
Strong background in applied mathematics, statistics and computer science
Demonstrated ability to develop standards, templates, and processes for simulation modeling and validation.
Experience managing relationships with external vendors and coordinating multi-stakeholder projects.
Proficiency in data analysis and integration techniques to support simulation model inputs and outputs.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex simulation results into clear business insights.
Bonus if you have (Preferred):
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, or related fields.
Experience developing or working with digital twin technologies in manufacturing contexts.
Familiarity with other modeling tools or complementary modeling techniques (e.g., Siemens Process Simulate, Delmia).
Background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience working within automotive or battery manufacturing industries.
Project management certification or experience leading cross-functional teams.
