Aequor is currently hiring an interpreter for the 26/27 school year in Charleston, SC. A School-Based Sign Language Interpreter facilitates communication between students who are Deaf or hard of hearing and their teachers, peers, and school staff. This role involves interpreting spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and voicing signed communication to ensure full access to classroom instruction, school activities, and social interactions. The interpreter supports the student’s educational goals by maintaining accurate, impartial interpretation and adhering to professional and ethical standards. Additional responsibilities may include collaborating with educators, participating in IEP meetings when appropriate, and preparing for lessons to understand relevant vocabulary and concepts.
