About the position:
CDHY is seeking to fill a full-time Fiscal Technician 3 position to provide fiscal and clerical support to the agency departments at the Washington School for the Deaf campus location. This is a permanent, benefits-eligible position, reporting directly to the Director of Business Operations. This position will work in collaboration with all departments of the agency while providing exemplary customer service and developing strong working relationships.


  • Processes data, assists with development of reports and conducts system data entry duties.
  • Reviews documents, forms and requests for accuracy, verification and hand off for processing, system entry to release financial transactional batches and US Bank Credit card processes.
  • Serves as approver of monthly reconciliations for local and petty cash accounts.
  • Serves as retention specialist for Business Office and administration.
  • Assists team members of the Business Office to track, assign and respond to system integration and transition efforts.
  • Work with Budget Analyst to complete general ledger reconciliations, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annually.
  • Serves as the primary back up for purchasing goods and services, booking travel for staff (flights and rental cars), and student lunch application process.
  • Process deliverables and invoices for Grants and contracts.
  • Provides customer service duties such as electronic and written correspondence, assisting business office visitors, answering phones/video phones and other duties as required to serve the public.
  • Prepares department payroll documentation for supervisory authorization and processing.
  • Primary super user for LaserFische for the Business Office.
  • Assists with development and updating of procedures and policies for Business Office.
  • Performs variety of clerical duties including filing, complex word processing tasks, such as merging and sorting, integrating text with graphics, spreadsheet, and database work.
  • Coordinates meetings, arranges facility and technology needs, maintains calendars and arranges interpreter and translator services.
  • Serves a notetaker, prepares and distributes notes and meeting minutes.
  • Manages email inbox(es) as assigned by supervisor. Responds to emailcorrespondence and forwards emails as appropriate for timely response.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Ability to create and produce professional looking documents (i.e. letters to parents, facility use agreements, etc.).
  • Organizational skills and good time management.
  • Excellent punctuality and attendance.
  • Ability to maintain the utmost level of confidentiality.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to be a positive role model for students.
  • Working knowledge and experience with use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to read and write using grammatically correct English.
  • Ability and willingness to learn American Sign Language (ASL) if skill is not already possessed.
  • Ability and willingness to work within a diverse environment.
  • Effectively utilize de-escalation strategies to manage conflict and foster productive outcomes.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently or within a team setting.
  • Willingness to work with students.
  • Ability to pass state and federal criminal background screenings.
  • Willing and able to act as a mandated reporter of child abuse and neglect.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of secretarial/administrative assistant experience.
  • Experience working within a school setting.
  • Experience working within a deaf educational setting.
  • Ability to communicate fluently using American Sign Language (ASL).

Salary Information:

Salary is set using the State of Washington General government pay scales (Range 40).


Vacation and sick leave accrual, paid holidays, personal holiday, personal leave day, and overtime eligible after 40 hours of work in a week.
