Job Title: Shop Helper
Job Description

The Shop Helper role is crucial in preparing surfaces and painting custom assemblies using various spray equipment. You will work with different paint types and assist with material check-in, fabrication tasks, and maintaining shop cleanliness. Collaborating with technicians to meet production schedules is an integral part of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces and paint custom assemblies using airless, HVLP, and conventional spray equipment.
  • Work with various paint types such as industrial enamel, 2-part epoxies, and polyurethane.
  • Assist with material check-in and verify parts against bills of materials.
  • Clean and prepare hydraulic reservoirs for testing and painting.
  • Support fabrication tasks including cutting, deburring, and beveling.
  • Operate basic shop machinery under supervision.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and assembly drawings.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Collaborate with technicians to meet production schedules.
Essential Skills
  • Accurate tape measure reading within 1/16 inch.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to operate shop equipment such as band saw, drill press, ironworker, and pipe threading tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Positive attitude and effective communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
