JOB SUMMARY:
The Sr. Strategic Development Manager works closely with Midmark’s leadership and other cross-functional leaders supporting Corporate strategy. This person will play a critical role in charting long-term growth strategy, org transformation and manage strategic alliances that drive new tech assessment and adjacent category creation. This position works with the highest levels of the organization, collaborating with senior leadership and marketing leads to guide decision-making to maintain the company’s competitive position in the market. Key responsibilities include leading the facilitation of the strategic prioritization process, conducting market research, identifying emerging trends, evaluating feasibility, and collaborating with Upstream Marketing teams. This leader plays a crucial role in the managing the overall strategic planning process for Midmark across all business segments.
ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:
Drive thought leadership with corporate strategy and Upstream Marketing teammates to define and deliver key growth initiatives leading to corporate strategic activities.
Create and update strategic frameworks to align the various business units and resources to achieve overarching corporate goals.
Works closely with senior leaders on the analysis and decisions pertaining to market opportunity, growth vectors, payer and reimbursement mechanisms. Takes the lead on modeling and presenting overall opportunity to leadership for key strategic markets.
Partners with senior leadership to drive the annual strategic planning process. Identifies and defines key initiatives and investments needed to stay ahead of the competition and maintain Midmark’s market leadership.
Builds “Executive ready” project deliverables, including presentations for Midmark Senior Leadership at both the business unit and corporate levels.
Manages the strategic alliance and partnership funnel, including prioritizing potential targets, monitoring target performance, and maintaining relationships with strategic partners.
Takes the lead for establishing open innovation and/or strategic partnerships for access to new technologies or markets related to company strategy.
Liaises with external market research firms to conduct Voice of Customer (VOC) to inform market work and develop strategic planning best practices.
Conducts ongoing analysis of both, new and existing market segments to develop a strong understanding of key competitive market landscapes (industry trends, share, competitor strategies, etc.).
Synthesizes market data and research findings into insightful and data driven recommendations for senior leadership.
Chairs, manages and coordinates strategy council, strategic innovation reviews, strategic segment governances and other critical forums by providing guidance on agenda, content and implications to Midmark. Communicates decisions and informs key stakeholders.
Manages Strat development manager and mentors these personnel on professional development and key task execution.
Drives decisions around the portfolio valuation process and prioritization analyses, providing strategic recommendations and long-term portfolio context to optimize the return of investments.
Maintain relationships with thought leaders and innovators in all business units.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree required in business, marketing, and/or engineering. MBA is preferred. Prior experience in the healthcare sector required. Ten (10) years of related experience in strategic marketing, product management, front end innovation and/or business development. Digital healthcare experience and global marketplace experience a plus.
