Role Description This is a full-time, outside Senior Sales Representative role based in Upstate, NY. The Senior Sales Representative will identify and develop new business opportunities, manage an assigned territory, and build long-term relationships with municipal water & wastewater treatment plant decision makers and engineering firm customers. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and qualifying leads, conducting on-site customer visits, preparing and delivering technical presentations, and collaborating with engineering and operations teams to tailor solutions. The role involves preparing proposals and bids, negotiating pricing and contract terms, tracking sales activities in a CRM, and meeting or exceeding sales targets. The Senior Sales Representative will also monitor market trends, participate in industry events and association meetings, and provide feedback to internal stakeholders on customer needs and product improvements.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in technical or industrial sales, preferably in water/wastewater treatment, environmental services, or related mechanical/chemical equipment markets.
  • Strong skills in prospecting, lead qualification, pipeline management, and closing complex deals with municipal, industrial, and consulting engineering clients.
  • Ability to understand and explain technical concepts related to biological processes, filtration, disinfection, and mechanical equipment to diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Proficiency with CRM and standard office software for managing accounts, forecasting, and reporting sales activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience. PE is a bonus.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing a territory or portfolio of key accounts.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region for customer visits, site meetings, and industry events.
  • High level of integrity, self-motivation, and accountability, with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
