Senior Property Accountant

I’m working with a boutique, luxury-focused property management firm in NYC that represents real estate investors and owners across high-end residential assets, including individual units, full buildings, and private residences. The firm is looking to add a seasoned Senior Property Accountant to their team.


This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the numbers, producing polished owner reporting, and partnering closely with property management and leadership.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering clear, accurate monthly financial reporting to property owners
  • Owning the accounting process across a portfolio of residential properties from start to close
  • Performing bank reconciliations for operating, reserve, and escrow accounts
  • Reviewing and validating invoices, expenses, and owner distributions
  • Monitoring rent activity, common charges, utilities, real estate taxes, and vendor payments
  • Serving as a financial partner to property management, helping resolve questions and variances
  • Assisting with year-end close and assembling materials for external CPAs
  • Maintaining organized, compliant financial records in accordance with NYC requirements


What the team is looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in property accounting, ideally within NYC
  • Proven experience creating owner-facing financial statements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Comfortable managing multiple properties with minimal oversight
  • Strong communication skills and a client-service mindset
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive owner information
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with property accounting systems
  • Familiarity with AppFolio is a plus;
