Senior Property Accountant

The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for the full accounting cycle for assigned properties. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and timely decision‑making support for operations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Own the month‑end close process for assigned properties, including journal entries, accruals, and reviews
  • Prepare and review bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations
  • Manage cash activity, funding requests, and treasury‑related transactions
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and perform variance analysis
  • Partner closely with property management and operations to resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Ensure accuracy of rent rolls, CAM charges, and expense allocations
  • Maintain audit‑ready documentation and support internal and external audits
  • Assist with process improvements and system enhancements as the company scales


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of property or real estate accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of reconciliations, accrual accounting, and cash management
  • Experience working in an ERP or property management accounting system
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large data sets preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Collaborative mindset with clear communication skills
