Senior Property Accountant

We are partnering with a well-established and growing real estate investment platform seeking a Property Accountant to support a regional portfolio. This role offers strong visibility within the accounting organization and the opportunity to work closely with experienced leadership in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.


The position will focus on full-cycle property accounting, partnering with both accounting leadership and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective portfolio oversight.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee accrual-based accounting for a portfolio of properties, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and monthly close processes
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial planning
  • Prepare and analyze periodic financial reports, including budget-to-actual variance analysis
  • Manage CAM and real estate tax reconciliations, including tenant billings and audit support
  • Partner closely with property management and accounting teams to ensure proper expense classification and reporting
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (advanced degree a plus)
  • 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within real estate or public accounting
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience with property accounting systems (e.g., Yardi) is a plus
