Senior Project Accountant - Deltek Vantagepoint

Robert Half is partnering with a well‑established, multidisciplinary professional services firm in South Florida to identify a Senior Project Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This role supports complex, long‑term projects and works closely with project managers in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a project accountant with deep Deltek Vantagepoint experience who enjoys partnering with operations and owning the full project accounting lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee full project accounting lifecycle, including cost tracking, WIP, revenue recognition, and margin analysis
• Partner closely with Project Managers to review financial performance and support decision‑making
• Prepare and submit monthly project billings, including FDOT and other agency‑specific invoicing
• Manage accounts receivable follow‑up related to project billings and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare documentation for FDOT audits and other compliance requirements
• Maintain accurate project setup and data integrity within Deltek Vantagepoint
• Support proposals, contract reviews, and subconsultant tracking as needed
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior project accounting staff

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is strongly required
• Background in the Construction, Engineering or related industry required
• Strong understanding of project costing, revenue recognition, and work‑in‑progress reporting
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently
• Strong understanding of FDOT
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solutions‑focused mindset
