Senior Construction Accountant

We’re working with a highly respected, employee-owned AEC firm based in Chicago that is looking to add a Construction Accountant (or Senior) to their growing team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own project accounting across multiple active jobs (cost tracking, budgets, financial performance)
• Prepare and review client billings and invoices
• Manage subcontractor payments, retainage, and lien documentation
• Partner closely with project managers to ensure financial alignment
• Analyze job cost reports and investigate variances
• Support project-level financial reporting and forecasting
• Maintain accurate, compliant, and well-organized financial records

What They’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 5–7+ years of experience, ideally within construction or project-based accounting
• Strong attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Procore and/or Deltek VantagePoint
• Advanced Excel / Microsoft Office skills
