Position Overview



The Senior Payroll Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the Payroll team as a subject matter expert in payroll and timekeeping systems. This individual is responsible for analyzing payroll data and trends, improving payroll processes, and ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations, including off-cycle adjustments. The role also focuses heavily on reporting, metrics, and cross-functional collaboration with Accounting

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for payroll and timekeeping systems, supporting system maintenance and optimization
  • Analyze payroll data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency
  • Generate, maintain, and distribute both ad-hoc and standard payroll reports
  • Create new reports, dashboards, and data views to support business needs
  • Partner with Accounting to support account reconciliations and manage garnishment processing and payments
  • Compile and distribute key workforce metrics (e.g., overtime, hours worked vs. budget)
  • Support bi-weekly payroll processing, including ensuring timely completion of timekeeping approvals and sign-offs
  • Assist in developing recurring and custom reporting with meaningful data analysis
  • Contribute to improvements in payroll-related applications to enhance productivity and business operations
  • Other duties as assigned by hiring manager



Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Business + 5+ years of payroll experience with systems/IT exposure, or 7+ years of progressive payroll experience with systems/IT exposure
  • Strong experience with payroll and timekeeping systems (Workday experience is a plus)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven ability to analyze payroll reports and understand how registers and reports tie together
  • Experience using web-based tools to research and resolve payroll issues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of discretion when handling confidential information
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
