Confidential Search – Senior Litigation Counsel (Infrastructure & Construction)
Location: U.S. Queens, New York
I am currently representing a leading, nationally recognised heavy civil and infrastructure contractor on a confidential search for a Senior Litigation Counsel. This role will support the delivery of complex, high-value infrastructure projects across transportation, utilities, and public works sectors.
This is a senior, strategic legal position with direct exposure to executive leadership, offering the opportunity to play a key role in managing risk and overseeing major dispute resolution efforts across large-scale projects.
The Role
- Lead and manage complex construction litigation and dispute resolution matters
- Oversee arbitration, mediation, and claims strategy across major infrastructure projects
- Partner with executive leadership and operations teams to proactively mitigate legal and commercial risk
- Manage and direct external counsel, including performance, budgets, and strategic alignment
- Establish best practices and provide legal guidance to project teams to prevent and resolve disputes
Essential Requirements
This is a highly specialised position. Candidates must meet all of the following criteria:
- 10–20+ years of litigation experience
- Demonstrated background in construction or infrastructure litigation (heavy civil, transportation, utilities, or public works)
- Proven experience managing complex claims, arbitration, and mediation on large-scale projects
- Track record of overseeing external counsel and handling significant dispute exposure
- Experience working with leading contractors, EPC organisations, or top-tier construction law firms
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution
- Active license to practice law in the U.S. (New York or California preferred)
Candidates without direct construction or infrastructure litigation experience will not be considered.
