Job Summary:
The Endeavor Health Investment Office is headquartered in Evanston, IL and oversees $8+ billion in investment assets, which includes a corporate endowment fund and several defined contribution plans. The Investment Office works closely with the Board of Directors, Investment Committee and internal management and is committed to being an innovative, top-tier investment team among peers.
As the Senior Investment Analyst, you will work closely with senior members of the Endeavor investment team to manage the investment activities within all asset classes, with a particular focus on private equity and co-investments. You will be an integral part of a rapidly growing team that is committed to developing internal talent via close collaboration with the CIO and other investment team members.
What You Will Do:
- Assist in the management of all asset classes, with a particular focus on private equity, real estate, and infrastructure funds. Support the investment diligence process which drives recommendations to add, hold or remove investment managers. Diligence may include detailed performance analysis with peer benchmarking, performance attribution, market/sector analysis, reference calls, terms review, and team evaluation.
- Pursue new investment themes through market mapping, manager introductions, reference calls, and investment manager pipeline reviews. Participate in and lead diligence trips to conferences or onsite meetings with investment managers to further diligence and industry research
- Analyze co-investment opportunities and assist in the preparation of deal review materials for the Investment Committee
- Monitor existing investments and asset classes through manager update calls, annual meeting attendance, conference attendance, and evaluating quarterly materials and research reports
- Maintain quantitative and qualitative profiles of investment managers, which includes investment performance, portfolio holdings, investment terms and written assessments. Support portfolio reporting by developing and maintaining portfolio exposure models, commitment pacing models, and investment committee review materials.
- Work closely with the internal investment operations diligence team to ensure investment manager operational risks are appropriately assessed and monitored
What You Will Need:
- Education: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science required. Preferred fields of study include economics, social sciences, mathematical sciences, engineering, computer science, business, or other relevant discipline. Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred but not required.
- Certification: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation, or progress toward certification, preferred but not required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required
Unique or Preferred Skills:
- Most successful candidates will have relevant experience at one or more of the following organizations: fund of funds, endowment/foundation, pension fund, investment management firm, investment consulting/OCIO firm
- There are no strict requirements regarding the number years of experience. We consider candidates with varying experience levels, with the strongest candidates typically possessing 2-6 years of relevant experience
- Investment manager sourcing and diligencing experience, particularly in private equity and/or co-investments
- Ability to independently develop and defend investment recommendations
- In-depth knowledge of capital markets
- Strong writing, presentation and communication skills
- Ability to effectively multi-task
- Ability to work well independently and within a team environment
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with third-party database/analysis providers such as eVestment, InvestmentMetrics, Pitchbook and Preqin a plus
- Physical demands: Sedentary work (exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and involving sitting most of the time with occasional standing and walking)
