Position Overview
The MIS Senior Manager serves as the senior technology leader for Robo Optic's Hutto facility, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing all information systems, manufacturing technology, and IT operations supporting production, quality, logistics, and facilities. This hands-on, strategic role bridges IT and manufacturing operations and reports directly to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Enterprise Systems
- Implement and manage MES, ERP (SAP/Oracle/equivalent), WMS, and QMS platforms supporting end-to-end manufacturing operations
- Integrate shop floor systems with enterprise platforms to ensure real-time data flow, traceability, and production visibility
- Support NPI processes, engineering change management, BOM configuration, and production documentation
- Manage SPC, calibration, and ISO 9001-aligned quality technology infrastructure
IT Infrastructure & Factory Automation
- Design and manage facility IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, workstations, industrial PCs, and cybersecurity systems
- Oversee OT systems, including PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and automated equipment interfaces
- Ensure secure, reliable IT/OT convergence supporting both corporate and factory floor environments
- Manage hardware procurement, software licensing, vendor relationships, and IT service contracts
Team Leadership & Strategy
- Build, lead, and develop the facility's IT/MIS team, including systems administrators and support staff
- Develop and manage the IT/MIS department budget (Capex and Opex)
- Establish IT governance policies, KPIs, and service level standards for the facility
- Lead digitalization and Industry 4.0 initiatives to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- 8–12+ years of IT/MIS leadership experience in electronics, hardware, or high-tech manufacturing environments
- Hands-on ERP implementation and management experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent) in manufacturing
- Experience with MES, WMS, and shop floor integration in a production environment
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, OT systems, cybersecurity, and factory automation
- Proven track record leading technology buildouts in startup or greenfield manufacturing facilities
Preferred
- Experience in robotics, optical systems, or precision electronics/hardware manufacturing
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0, IIoT, and smart manufacturing technologies
- Experience working with Taiwanese, Japanese, or Korean manufacturing organizations
- PMP, ITIL, or relevant technology certifications
- Bilingual English/Mandarin or English/Spanish a plus
