An established general contractor based in Dallas, Texas is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to support the delivery of large-scale construction projects across sectors including commercial, industrial, data centers, and other complex developments.
This role will play a key part in the preconstruction process, responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, supporting bid strategy, and collaborating with project teams to ensure competitive and well-structured proposals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the estimating and preconstruction process from early-stage concept through final bid submission.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and quantity take-offs for construction projects across multiple sectors.
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documentation to develop accurate project pricing.
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitive and complete proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers, preconstruction teams, and leadership during bid development.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies where appropriate.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers within the Dallas construction market.
- Participate in bid reviews, scope analysis, and proposal preparation.
- Develop conceptual estimates, feasibility studies, and budget pricing during early project phases.
- Support risk analysis, constructability reviews, and schedule considerations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of estimating experience within a general contracting environment.
- Experience delivering estimates for commercial, industrial, data center, or large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems.
- Demonstrated experience preparing estimates for complex construction projects.
- Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, Procore, Sage Estimating, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar platforms.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documentation.
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Experience working with multiple subcontractor trades and procurement processes.
