Senior Technician / Engineer

About the Role
Global CTI Group is hiring a Senior Technician / Engineer to join our technical delivery team. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for an engineer who brings depth across Microsoft Server environments, UCaaS voice platforms, and Aruba network infrastructure — and who can communicate clearly with a customer's IT director just as easily as they can configure a switch.
You will work directly alongside our Technical Lead delivering enterprise solutions to K-12 school districts, colleges, municipalities, and commercial organizations throughout California. Variety, ownership, and direct customer impact are built into the job every day.
What We're Looking For
Demonstrated hands-on experience across these three areas:
Microsoft Server & M365
UCaaS / Voice Communications
Aruba Network Infrastructure
Deep expertise in all three is ideal. Strong depth in two with solid working knowledge of the third will also be considered.
What You'll Do
- Deploy and support UCaaS platforms — Zoom Phone, Microsoft Teams Voice, RingCentral — including migrations from legacy Mitel/ShoreTel environments
- Configure SIP trunks, SBCs, dial plans, call flows, and E911 compliance across single and multi-site deployments
- Manage Microsoft Server environments — Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, M365, Azure AD, and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
- Design and deploy Aruba wired and wireless infrastructure — switches, APs, Aruba Central, VLANs, QoS, and RF planning
- Work directly with customer IT teams through discovery, deployment, and training — you're the face of Global CTI on-site
- Produce clean technical documentation — network diagrams, as-builts, configuration records
- Support pre-sales technical assessments alongside our Sales Engineering team on complex opportunities
Required
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise IT or technology services delivery
- Practical experience with Microsoft Server, Active Directory, and M365
- Hands-on UCaaS deployment experience — Zoom Phone, Teams Voice, or RingCentral
- Working experience with Aruba wired or wireless network infrastructure
- Strong communication skills — comfortable leading technical conversations with customers and non-technical stakeholders
- Valid California driver's license — regular travel to customer sites required
Preferred
- Aruba certifications (ACSA, ACWA, or higher)
- Microsoft certifications (AZ-900, MD-102, MS-102, or equivalent)
- SIP/SBC experience — hybrid voice, PBX migrations, survivability design
- Experience with VMware vSphere or Hyper-V
- K-12, higher education, or government customer experience
- ConnectWise or PSA platform familiarity
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $80,000 – $105,000 depending on experience and certifications
