SOFT's client, located in Waltham, MA (hybrid) is looking for a Senior Real Estate Contract Attorney for a long term contract assignment.
Description:
Seeking skilled attorney with 5-10 years of experience who can provide commercial transactional real estate support to our business partners and clients. The attorney will work with other experienced members of our Real Estate Legal Practice Group.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Acquire and dispose of commercial real estate, including contract preparation and negotiation, title analysis, and survey review.
• Title examination and research.
• Draft and negotiate commercial leases, licenses, easements and similar agreements.
• Manage third-party property matters and disputes involving requests by commercial & governmental entities, railroads and private individuals.
• Support cross-functional projects and initiatives impacting the Company’s property portfolio.
• Perform legal research and prepare high-quality legal memoranda.
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to, and in good standing with, the MA Bar. Admission to NY, NH and VT Bar(s) a plus.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the practice of commercial real estate law at a medium or large law firm, commercial in-house counsel, or governmental entity background.
• Demonstrated ability to perform title research and proficiency with land court and registry of deeds are mandatory.
• Direct experience (i) acquiring and/or disposing of commercial real estate, including contract preparation and negotiation, title analysis and survey review; and (ii) drafting and negotiating commercial leases, licenses, easements and similar agreements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high volume and fast-paced real estate transactional matters from inception through closing, including but not limited to, drafting and negotiating land and facility purchases/sales, leases, easements, licenses, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to think critically, problem solve and manage time efficiently and effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders in the public and private sector.
• Experience in the energy/utility/regulated sector a plus but not required.

• Waltham, MA corporate office
• Expected to work most hours in in the Waltham, MA office; the flexibility to work remotely may increase as the attorney demonstrates the ability to work independently
