SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Essential Functions
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies. This includes balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports.
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor budget variances and provide explanations for significant deviations.
Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data. Identify and address control weaknesses or deficiencies.
Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations. Address audit findings and implement recommendations as needed.
Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations. Prepare and file tax returns and assist with tax planning strategies.
Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions, such as investment opportunities, cost reduction initiatives, and pricing strategies. Provide insights into key financial metrics and trends.
Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting procedures and systems. Implement changes to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.
Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff on accounting principles, software tools, and best practices.
Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
Perform various complex account analyses and reconciliation.
Assisting the accounting manager as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required;
Experience in public accounting strongly preferred
Active or inactive CPA license preferred, but not required
Minimum of 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including both public and private
