A growing manufacturing and distribution company is looking to add a Senior Accountant to its accounting team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on accounting role with exposure to month-end close, reconciliations, cash activity, inventory, fixed assets, sales tax, audit support, and operational reporting.
The company has a long-standing presence in its niche, recently expanded through acquisition, and is continuing to invest in growth. This role is open due to that continued expansion.
About the opportunity:
The Senior Accountant will support the Corporate Controller and broader leadership team with day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, account analysis, and process improvement. This person will play an important role in keeping the accounting function accurate, organized, and scalable as the business continues to grow.
This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys variety, likes being close to the business, and wants to be involved in both core accounting work and operational projects.
Key responsibilities include:
• Owning portions of the monthly close process, including account analysis, recurring entries, and follow-up on unusual activity
• Reviewing cash activity, bank transactions, and related schedules to ensure balances are accurate and properly supported
• Preparing financial and operational reports that help leadership track business performance and make informed decisions
• Analyzing general ledger activity and resolving discrepancies by working with internal teams across the business
• Supporting inventory-related accounting, including count activity, valuation work, and related reporting
• Maintaining fixed asset and capital project records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation-related schedules
• Assisting with customer billing, cash application, vendor activity, and payment-related workflows as needed
• Preparing documentation and schedules for audit, tax, and year-end reporting requests
• Helping calculate, review, and support indirect tax filings and related reconciliations
• Reconciling subledger activity to the general ledger and ensuring supporting detail is complete and accurate
• Building Excel-based reports and analysis for accounting, operations, and executive leadership
• Identifying opportunities to clean up processes, improve documentation, and make the accounting function more scalable
• Partnering with other departments on ad hoc reporting, research, and financial analysis projects
Ideal background:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or inventory-based business experience preferred
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, charts, and reporting tools
• ERP experience preferred; exposure to mid-market manufacturing systems is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, well-documented work
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Problem-solver who can work independently while also collaborating across departments
Compensation & benefits:
• Competitive compensation based on experience
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Paid vacation and holidays
• 401(k) match
• Short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance
This could be a great fit for a Senior Accountant who wants a broad role within a growing manufacturing environment, with the ability to touch multiple areas of accounting and support meaningful business growth.
