About the Opportunity
Our confidential client is a rapidly growing manufacturer in the flexible packaging industry with significant production capacity and ambitious growth plans. They are seeking an experienced Sales Executive to drive new business development and expand market presence throughout the Midwest and surrounding regions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional who thrives on hunting new business, building long-term customer relationships, and delivering customized packaging solutions. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to manage their territory while being supported by a responsive operations and production team.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and lead generation through closing and account management
- Develop new business opportunities within food and beverage, CPG, cannabis, pet food, coffee, tea, and other consumer product markets
- Identify and engage brands, co-packers, processors, manufacturers, and packaging buyers
- Present customized flexible packaging solutions, including stand-up pouches, lay-flat pouches, rollstock, and custom printed films
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events
- Travel to customer sites, trade shows, and prospect meetings to strengthen relationships and secure new business
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are translated into effective packaging solutions
- Manage customer accounts post-sale to drive retention, growth, and repeat business
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts while maintaining profitable margins
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and customer information within CRM systems
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 3 years of B2B sales experience within flexible packaging or related packaging solutions
- Proven success selling products such as stand-up pouches, rollstock, custom films, flexible packaging, labels, or related products
- Strong hunter mentality with a demonstrated track record of generating and closing new business
- Established relationships within packaging, food manufacturing, CPG, cannabis, or related industries
- Experience selling to manufacturers, co-packers, converters, printers, or consumer brands
- Strong understanding of revenue growth, profitability, and margin management
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Located in Michigan or a neighboring state
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time
Preferred
- Experience with digitally printed flexible packaging solutions
- Knowledge of food-safe packaging and regulated manufacturing environments
- Existing network within the Midwest food manufacturing and consumer goods markets
- Experience selling into cannabis, pet food, coffee, tea, snack food, or specialty packaging sectors
- Background working within a fast-growing entrepreneurial organization
