Position Summary

Our laboratory is seeking a research laboratory technician to support research focused on platelet biology, mitochondrial function, and gene editing in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells. The lab integrates molecular biology, CRISPR-based genome editing, high throughput functional screens, functional platelet assays, and mouse models to study mechanisms of thrombosis, bleeding disorders, and megakaryocyte and platelet biology.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in gaining hands-on experience in cutting-edge molecular and cellular biology, CRISPR/CAS screening, and animal models in a collaborative academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing in primary human cells (design, implementation, validation)
  • Molecular and cellular assays
  • Assist with platelet isolation, handling, and functional assays
  • Maintain mammalian and primary human cell cultures
  • Assist with mouse models of thrombosis
