Seeking Experienced Real Estate and Probate Paralegal for a Rapidly Growing Law Firm Serving Families, Farmers, and Landowners

Location: Macon, Georgia (in person and remote hybrid)

Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly


We are a Woman-owned law firm seeking a highly motivated, organized, and friendly person to join our paralegal team. Our firm prioritizes compassionate customer service and a spirit of excellence as we help our clients prepare wills and trusts, settle the estates of loved ones who have died, manage inherited land (heirs’ property), and protect family-owned farms. We aim to help our clients create, protect, and transfer generational wealth.

You understand the importance of responding quickly to client communications, ensuring that clients receive regular updates on their cases, and being a problem solver when things don’t go exactly as planned. You are comfortable with technology, are proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, and have the ability to learn and master new software applications.


Your Contribution to the Firm

  • Title and Real Estate Work: Order title searches, outline chains of title, and determining fractional property owners.
  • Document Drafting: Prepare deeds, affidavits of descent, probate petitions, and other legal documents related to real estate and probate matters.
  • Family Tree Preparation: Assist clients with organizing family tree information and working with genealogists to fill in the gaps.
  • Recording & Filing: Handle recording of documents (both e-filing and in-person courthouse filings) and ensure compliance with all procedural requirements.
  • Case Management: Independently manage case files, track deadlines, and ensure matters progress in a timely and organized manner.
  • Workflow Execution: Follow established workflows and contribute to improving systems and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Client Communication: Build strong relationships with clients by communicating clearly verbally and in writing, answering questions, and providing consistent updates.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with attorneys and other team members while maintaining ownership of assigned responsibilities.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal with a strong focus on real estate and/or probate.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
  • Drafting deeds and affidavits
  • Title review and issue spotting
  • Recording documents (online and in person)
  • E-filing in probate or real estate matters
  • Strong organizational and case management skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience developing, following, and improving workflows and systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality or attention to detail.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and accountability.

Compensation: This position is full-time with salary starting at $52,000 annually, based on experience.
