Quality Engineer
$100,000-140,000 + bonus
Position Summary:
Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a manufacturer in the Leesburg, IN area who is seeking a Quality Engineer. This role drives cross-functional efforts to resolve manufacturing issues, mentors teams in root cause analysis, and designs and implements training programs focused on quality mindset, problem solving, and Six Sigma methods.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field
- Six sigma black or green belt certification
- 5+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Job Responsibilities:
- Drive training initiatives centered on quality mindset, built-in quality, defect prevention, and accountability.
- Facilitate formal instruction in problem solving, Six Sigma, statistical thinking, and foundational quality tools.
- Coach and support Green Belt and Black Belt candidates, as well as their project work within the plant.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and quality leaders to identify capability gaps and develop targeted training strategies.
- Monitor and communicate the effectiveness of training and problem-solving efforts through defined metrics.
- Guide teams in applying structured problem-solving approaches such as PDCA, A3, 8D, DMAIC, and root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone).
- Ensure effective containment, corrective actions, and validation of results for significant quality issues.
- Define and standardize problem-solving practices, templates, and governance across the plant.
- Design, implement, and continuously enhance quality training programs for all organizational levels.
