Quality Assurance Manager
Location: San Francisco
Salary: $80K (exempt)

Key Responsibilities
- Lead quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance across behavioral health programs.
- Monitor compliance with licensing, accreditation, and payer requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Medi‑Cal, Joint Commission, state and county agencies).
- Oversee incident reporting processes, including review, feedback, and preparation of required leadership and board reports.
- Conduct internal chart audits and support external audits, peer review, and utilization review activities.
- Partner with clinical, operations, IT, and finance teams to support accurate documentation, billing, authorizations, and data integrity.
- Provide training, guidance, and consultation to clinical staff and leaders on documentation, compliance, incident reporting, and billing standards.
- Ensure HIPAA and privacy compliance related to clinical records and information requests.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally and with external partners to respond to regulatory requests and support continuous quality improvement.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in behavioral health quality management, regulatory compliance, or utilization review
- Strong understanding of Medi‑Cal and Joint Commission requirements related to behavioral health services, documentation, and billing
- Comfortable working with county and regulatory partners and leading cross-functional initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
- Willingness to be a hands-on supervisor (may include functional or project-based oversight)
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and electronic data/reporting systems
