Compensation: 85k-95k depending on experience

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Director of Quality & Regulatory Affairs, this role manages the implementation and compliance of food safety programs and quality systems to ensure our products and systems meet our customers' requirements and comply with applicable Federal, State, and Local Regulatory Agencies. 


What You’ll Lead Quality

 Management System (QMS) Leadership

·        Implement and manage food safety programs and customer requirements at the site level.

·        Responsible for quality, micro and food safety, regulatory compliance of the site, and adheres to good manufacturing practices.

·        Support Quality Director with SQF, customer audits, and USDA/FDA inspections.

·        Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Regulatory Compliance

·        Work with regulatory agencies to resolve issues on time.

·        Stay current on evolving food safety and regulatory standards.

·        Ensure full compliance across operations.

·        Provide regulatory guidance on labeling, product changes, and documentation.

·        Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations

Quality Assurance & Performance

·        Support the Quality Director and provide the data for Quality Systems Management (QSM) meetings.

·        Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and validations.

·        Maintains and monitors quality and food safety KPIs and works cross-functionally to escalate any issues directly with the appropriate manager and Senior Management Team.

·        Validates quality systems by establishing validation and verification programs to demonstrate the effectiveness of programs.

·        Oversee validation protocols, technical files, risk assessments, and traceability.

·        Manage customer complaints, deviations, CAPA, and inspection programs.

·        Manages customer/consumer feedback, ensures corrective/preventive actions are derived with a cross-functional team to develop continuous improvement plans.

·        Support the Quality Director in managing factory-facing audits at the site level and work with cross-functional departments to resolve issues raised at audits.

·        Support in the recall and business continuity teams where required.

Leadership & Culture

·        This position is responsible for managing the floor quality team.

·        Train and mentor employees on quality and regulatory best practices.

·        Support development of the quality team.

·        Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, warehouse, maintenance, supply chain, and leadership team.

What We’re Looking For

Education:

·        Bachelor’s degree in food science or related field (Required)

Experience:

·        Minimum 2 years of USDA regulatory experience (Required)

·        Minimum 2 years of SQF experience (Required)

·        Proven leadership in Quality Systems within food manufacturing.

Additional Requirements:

·        Ability to commute to or relocate to Colorado Springs, CO (Required)
