Quality Assurance Manager

Cooler Master USA
Katy, TX

Position Overview

The Quality Manager at the Cooler Master facility acts as the lead liaison for all customer and vendor-related quality matters. This role manages the end-to-end quality feedback loop, from overseeing supplier quality audits to resolving customer complaints through robust Root Cause Analysis (RCA). By fostering a culture of 'Right First Time' across the production floor and throughout the supply chain, this individual ensures that every product leaving the facility reflects the highest standards of reliability and brand reputation.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design, documentation, and implementation of a new Quality Management System (QMS) for the facility, with the primary objective of achieving and sustaining formal ISO 9001 certification.
  • Lead all internal and external quality audits, serving as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and customer auditors to ensure zero major non-conformances.
  • Direct the facility-wide Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) program by utilizing formal root cause analysis methodologies—including 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone—to investigate quality escapes. This role is accountable for ensuring that investigations move beyond temporary fixes to implement permanent, data-driven process changes that prevent recurrence and drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement and monitor SPC tools and techniques to track manufacturing stability, identifying trends before they result in non-conforming products.
  • Oversee the supplier qualification and performance program, conducting vendor audits and managing the Incoming Quality Inspection (IQC) process to ensure raw material integrity.
  • Manage the daily execution of IPQC (In-Process) and Final Quality Inspection workflows to ensure all products meet specifications at every stage of production.
  • Partner with the Production Manager to integrate quality gates into the manufacturing flow, fostering a "Quality at the Source" culture across all shifts.
  • Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) process to identify, segregate, and document non-conforming materials, ensuring no "red-tagged" items are used in production or shipped to customers.
  • Lead the FAI process for all new products or significant process changes, ensuring that the first units produced meet 100% of engineering and customer specifications before mass production begins.
  • Execute specialized projects and technical assignments as directed by leadership to support facility-wide operational, safety, and certification goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Quality, Mechanical, or Industrial), Operations Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of leading inspection teams.
  • Ability to effectively present quality metrics to executive leadership while also providing clear technical coaching to inspectors and operators.
  • Extensive experience in the design, implementation, and management of an ISO 9001 Quality Management System from the ground up.
  • Deep technical understanding of IQC, IPQC, and Final Inspection protocols, including the development of inspection plans and sampling methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience managing equipment calibration programs and the proper use of precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.).
  • Strong competency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and the ability to interpret data trends to prevent quality escapes.
  • Experience performing vendor audits and establishing scorecard systems to ensure raw material compliance.
  • Demonstrated success in managing high-stakes timelines for quality-related projects.
  • Professional certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM/OE) are highly desirable.
