SUMMARY

We have an immediate need for a Purchasing Associate who is bilingual Mandarin with ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional relationship with co-workers and suppliers; cultural sensitivity and ability to relate well and effectively in a diverse workplace.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the satisfactory availability of goods to customers of the company by studying inventory levels and creating a forecast for expected usage
  • Schedule deliveries. Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products to maintain required inventory levels by monitoring and expediting orders as needed
  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve shipment issues, including defective or unacceptable goods and determine corrective action
  • Negotiate best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on budget and schedule requirements
  • Load and maintain supplier information in ERP database. Supplier information includes contact information, supplier product pricing, supplier part number, and payment terms. Verify order specifications/packaging and pricing for orders placed


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual English/Mandarin required
  • 2 years' experience / knowledge of supply management required
  • 3+ years in sourcing, planning or purchasing roles
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Strong attention to detail is required for this role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with good mathematical and analytical abilities is necessary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word / Excel required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline
