** The Project Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission of Volunteers of America Colorado by supporting a wide range of development and engagement activities. Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement and Marketing, this position works across teams to support fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship efforts, volunteer programs, special events, and internal and external communications.

This role is responsible for developing and managing project timelines, coordinating cross-functional collaboration, tracking budgets, ensuring smooth execution of strategic initiatives, and contributing to creative problem-solving. The ideal candidate thrives in a purpose-driven, fast-paced environment and demonstrates exceptional communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.


Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities


Cross-Departmental Collaboration


· Coordinate with advancement, marketing, volunteer services, and program teams to implement strategic project plans that support fundraising, communications, and engagement goals.

· Work closely with leadership to ensure clear understanding and alignment on goals, expectations, and timelines.


Project Planning and Execution

· Prepare and maintain project documentation including scopes of work, schedules, timelines, task lists, meeting notes, and status reports.

· Assist with marketing initiatives including campaign timelines, creative briefs, vendor coordination, and collateral production.


Fundraising and Donor Support

· Analyze and provide prospect research on new and current donors, as well as ongoing outcomes.

· Assist with donor communications processes.

· Track donor engagement activities and manage timelines for appeals and campaigns.

· Coordinate logistics and materials for donor and partner meetings, events, and stewardship activities.


Budget and Reporting

· Monitor and manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and reconciling invoices.

· Support regular reporting on campaign and event performance KPIs, as well as project outcomes.

Salary: $65,000-$75,000 annual

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications of Position

· Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.

Certification PMP strongly desired. Master's Degree helpful.

· 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in a nonprofit, development, or communications setting.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and a proactive mindset.

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), project management tools, and donor or CRM databases.

· Ability to work well with diverse internal teams, community members, and donors.

· Passion for mission-driven work and an understanding of the nonprofit sector.

· Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends in support of events. Other duties as assigned.
