Retail Project Architect | Mid-Level (5+ Years)

Our client is an established New York City–based design firm specializing in commercial buildings, retail, and restaurant projects. Their work includes new construction, adaptive reuse, and interior fit-outs for clients ranging from national retailers to restaurateurs, private owners, and developers.
We are seeking an Project Architect with 5+ years of professional retail experience to join our team. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, proven project coordination skills, and a solid background in commercial design.
Responsibilities
- Develop design concepts, space plans, and full construction document sets.
- Ensure drawings are detailed, accurate, and aligned with design intent for permit, bid, and construction phases.
- Coordinate with MEP, structural, and civil consultants throughout all project phases.
- Review and respond to landlord, client, and agency comments.
- Handle RFIs, addendums, bulletins, and site visit field reports.
- Oversee construction administration to maintain design quality and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior architecture.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in construction documents, detailing, and CA.
- Strong proficiency in Revit preferred and AutoCAD.
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
