Production Planner

Employbridge
Weatherford, TX

Position Overview

This role is embedded directly in daily operations and centers on actively managing production schedules in a fast-moving environment. Rather than functioning as a purely administrative planner, this position is responsible for building, owning, and continuously refining the schedule as conditions change. Priorities, material availability, and engineering updates can shift quickly, and this role ensures the schedule reflects those realities in real time.

A key part of success is anticipating how changes in one area impact the broader production pipeline and proactively addressing risks before they disrupt delivery timelines. This individual will also serve as the primary resource for schedule visibility, providing clear answers on project timing and identifying blockers.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the master production schedule across multiple concurrent custom projects.
  • Actively participate in production meetings, ensuring updates from the shop floor, capacity limits, and shifting priorities are accurately reflected and communicated.
  • Monitor long-lead materials and collaborate with procurement to align purchasing timelines with production needs.
  • Oversee project progression from engineering release through fabrication, finishing, and shipment, accounting for unique workflows and milestones.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, and potential delays in collaboration with engineering, procurement, and operations teams.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling data within the planning system, along with generating clear status updates for stakeholders.
  • Refine scheduling processes and improve communication of changes across departments.

Required Background

  • At least 3 years of experience in production scheduling or planning within a custom, project-based, or made-to-order manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of how material lead times influence production and experience working closely with purchasing teams.
  • Ability to interpret shop-floor conditions and foresee how changes affect downstream timelines.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills, especially when managing multiple active projects.
  • Comfortable collaborating across functions, including engineering, procurement, and production.
  • Experience using scheduling or planning tools, along with solid general computer proficiency.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with Visual Planning or similar scheduling platforms.
  • Exposure to industrial sectors such as energy, oil and gas, or fabrication.
  • Ability to interpret engineering documentation such as drawings, bills of materials, or routing steps.
