Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Production Planner role based in St. Petersburg, FL. The Production Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and adjusting production schedules to meet customer demand, inventory targets, and capacity constraints. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing sales orders and forecasts, translating demand into detailed production plans, and coordinating with purchasing, production, and logistics to ensure material and resource availability. The role involves monitoring work orders, tracking progress against schedules, resolving scheduling conflicts or constraints, and updating plans to address changes or disruptions. The Production Planner also collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve planning processes, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and prepares regular reports on production performance, lead times, and on-time delivery.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensures timely purchase, delivery and material flow through production to satisfy finished goods inventory objectives, customer requirements and established committed ship dates.
2. Reviews bookings, schedules customer sales orders, and creates necessary purchase and work orders to meet sales and shipment requirements. Ensure that complete and clear documentation is provided to suppliers and production.
3. Assists and/or runs reports or queries as necessary to determine appropriate actions to maintain proper stock levels in accordance with department guidelines.
4. Functions as Buyer for parts/materials supporting products within the scope of responsibility.
5. Ensures establishment and communication of committed shipping dates for sales orders.
6. Ensures timely disposition and resolution of rejected and failed materials.
7. Inputs and maintains MRP data essential for accurate reports on assignments parts/products.
8. Assists in maintaining management visibility of all outstanding material and production issues that impact company metrics performance.
9. Participates and works closely with engineering on new product development or special non-standard product sales orders.
10. Monitors status of all open work orders to ensure on time completion and closure. Reviews and reconciles work order material variances.
11. Responsible for directing and coordinating the timely and accurate shipment of sales orders within the company.
12. Monitors and reports on product backlog status including revenue projections.
QUALIFICATIONS:
SKILLS: Very effective communication and interpersonal skills
Strong detail, planning and organizational skills
Thorough knowledge and experience of MRP systems and applications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Query applications
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with close deadlines and prioritize critical tasks among competing tasks
