Job description:

Our client is looking for a Production Planner/Scheduler to work in their manufacturing facility in Irvington, NJ. This role has direct responsibility for Production Planning, Production Order Management and plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient, timely, and cost-effective flow of materials in production in alignment with our monthly and annual goals. Planners are instrumental in maintaining appropriate inventory levels, ensuring schedule reliability, and driving continuous process improvements across production planning.

Monday-Friday onsite - 8a start time

Salary starts at $80,000/year

Responsibilities:

  • Able to understand production scheduling and organize the daily/weekly schedule to support the production schedule priorities.
  • Release manufacturing orders based on material requirements planning (ERP) and coordinate the flow of material throughout the production cycle.
  • Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to understand capacity and resource availability to create accurate production orders.
  • Coordinate with purchasing teams to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and components.
  • Utilize Material Requirements Planning system (ERP) to ensure data is accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed, to meet changing demands.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency.
  • Generate reports on production performance and inventory metrics.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, production technologies and best practices in production planning.
  • Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure seamless flow of materials and information across the supply chain.
  • Monitor production progress daily, identify potential delays or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to meet delivery deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in production planning and scheduling at a manufacturer required, preferably electric/mechanical product manufacturing
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems and Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI highly preferred
  • BA in supply chain management, industrial engineering greatly preferred
  • Understanding of production processes, forecasting, inventory management and supply chain management processes in Manufacturing
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
