POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and oversee daily manufacturing operations at our client's facility. The Production Manager is accountable for efficient production execution, quality output, and alignment with delivery commitments, working in close partnership with the Operations Manager. This role plays a key part in driving productivity, optimizing workflow, managing the production team, and maintaining the high-quality standards for which our client is known. The Production Manager is also responsible for planning/scheduling and WIP visibility to support on-time delivery and the company’s continued growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and manage the production team to meet daily output targets reliably and safely.
• Partner closely with the Operations Manager to align production capacity, scheduling, and resources with customer demand and delivery commitments.
• Coordinate workflow across departments — assembly, quality assurance, and shipping — to ensure smooth, on-time delivery.
• Ensure manufactured parts move smoothly across departments preventing bottlenecks/delays as products are manufactured and inspected.
• Maintain the production plan with accurate WIP status and identify scheduling conflicts. Facilitate the daily production status meeting and routinely update the production plan with latest status.
• Generate and process production orders required to support the production schedule.
• Monitor production performance: track key metrics, spot bottlenecks, and implement timely improvements.
• Enforce strict in-process quality control to ensure products meet proper specifications and aerospace/military standards.
• Facilitate continuous process improvements by tracking production data, identifying inefficiencies, and suggesting optimizations.
• Promote a safe working environment: uphold safety protocols and ensure team compliance with company policies.
• Support and mentor production staff: provide training, performance feedback, and guidance on operational and technical best practices.
• Escalate constraints, material shortages, or quality holds to the Operations Manager with timely and accurate information.
REQUIREMENTS / REQUESTED QUALIFICATIONS
• 4–8 years of operations or manufacturing supervision/management experience, preferably in aerospace, electrical connectors, or similar technical manufacturing environments.
• Proven ability to lead production teams and drive performance, accountability, and collaboration on the shop floor.
• Solid understanding of production planning, workflow management, WIP tracking, and quality standards.
• Experience acting as a key communicator between the production flow and upper management.
• Analytical mindset: comfortable interpreting production metrics and using data to guide decisions.
• Familiarity with molding or manufacturing electrical connectors is a significant plus.
• Excellent communication skills: capable of coordinating across departments and reporting effectively to senior leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory; equivalent experience considered.
