Job Title: Sheet-Fed Press Operator

Job Description

The Sheet-Fed Press Operator plays a key role in producing high-quality printed sheets by setting up, operating, and maintaining sheet-fed printing presses. This position ensures that all printed products meet customer specifications, quality standards, and production schedules through careful press setup, monitoring, and routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain sheet-fed printing press equipment to produce jobs according to customer specifications and job ticket requirements.
  • Review job orders to determine press setup needs, including substrates, inks, coatings, and finishing requirements.
  • Set up the press by loading sheets, installing plates and blankets, adjusting ink and water balance, and ensuring proper registration and color accuracy.
  • Monitor the press throughout production runs to maintain consistent print quality and make necessary adjustments to ink flow, pressure, and sheet feed.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on printed materials to verify adherence to company and customer standards.
  • Troubleshoot press and print issues promptly to minimize downtime and reduce material waste.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press equipment and report any major repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, production teams, and quality staff to meet production deadlines and customer requirements.
  • Assist with general production and machine operation tasks as needed to support overall workflow.

Work Environment

This position operates on a 1st shift schedule, Friday through Sunday from 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The role is based in a production facility with sheet-fed printing presses and other manufacturing equipment. The environment requires adherence to safety practices and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. Appropriate work attire includes jeans and steel-toe shoes to support safety and comfort on the production floor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sioux Falls, SD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
