Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, service, and cost objectives. This role owns plant performance end-to-end, including production, planning, materials, maintenance, and warehouse functions. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, Lean manufacturing experience, and the ability to drive accountability, culture, and operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a strong safety culture ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards
- Oversee production, material procurement, production planning, warehouse, shipping, maintenance, and safety functions
- Manage plant resources including people, processes, and equipment to meet business and budget objectives
- Establish performance expectations and hold teams accountable to achieve operational goals
- Analyze production, quality, and maintenance data to identify gaps and drive corrective actions
- Develop and execute plant strategy aligned with company objectives and customer expectations
- Remove barriers and ensure teams have the tools and support needed to perform effectively
- Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Standard Work, VSM, Poka-Yoke, and continuous improvement efforts
- Build and develop talent while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture
- Address employee relations issues including performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators including safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Coordinate maintenance activities to support uptime, OEE improvement, and safe operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience managing operations in a manufacturing plant environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing systems involving materials, labor, and equipment
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in production-driven environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD preferred
- Lean manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to drive results, accountability, and continuous improvement
