A well-established precast concrete manufacturer is seeking a Plant Manager to lead operations at its Clanton, Alabama facility. This is a high-visibility leadership role with full P&L accountability, reporting into senior divisional leadership.
You'll own safety, production, quality, and people across the plant — driving throughput, managing a salaried and hourly workforce, and partnering with sales, engineering, and corporate functions to hit growth targets. What you'll do:
- Lead day-to-day plant operations: production scheduling, quality control, maintenance, shipping, and inventory
- Drive a zero-incident safety culture and ensure full OSHA and environmental compliance
- Own plant P&L — manage budgets, control costs, and deliver on operational KPIs
- Develop, coach, and hold accountable a team of supervisors, production staff, and support personnel
- Partner with sales and engineering on capacity planning, new product introductions, and customer commitments
- Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives (lean, 5S, standard work)
- Maintain plant assets, equipment, and facility to support long-term operational capability
What you'll need:
- 7+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, with at least 3 years as a Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or equivalent
- Background in precast concrete, drainage products, ready-mix, or heavy industrial manufacturing required
- Proven P&L ownership and track record of delivering results against safety, quality, and productivity targets
- Strong people leader — able to develop talent, drive accountability, and build culture in a unionized or non-union blue-collar environment
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and modern production systems
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Willingness to be on-site full-time in Clanton, AL — this is not a remote or hybrid role
